April 2008

After I read about the Victoria Falls, I find that should be fun if able to have the chance to travel there and experice the environment. I want to go but just don’t know when I able to travel to there. So at this moment, have to work hard and earn money before I can have the dream comes true.

The Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders) is a waterfall situated in southern Africa between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The falls are, by some measures, the largest waterfall in the world, as well as being among the most unusual in form, and having arguably the most diverse and easily seen wildlife of any major waterfall site. - Wikipedia

I have read from one of the article that although Victoria Falls are impressive year-round, the peak flood from March-April creates clouds of spray that can obliterate views. You can still feel the thunder during low-water season from July-January when the Falls dwindle. This is also the best time for whitewater rafting. Best seen between April and August, lunar rainbows cast an ethereal glow across the Falls for three days during a full moon – scheduled in 2008 for next Sunday, May 20, June 18, July 18 and August 16.

The following 5 situations are just a guideline for us to survive in a company. Have a good laugh!

So is that meant that we as a staff cannot be happy at the company if not then will not get promoted? This type of working life seems so sad. Then how should we do in order to work happily and get promoted at the same time?

This means that cannot admit that we are doing wrongly although doing a mistake? No, of course not..Just only need to depend on situation.

Haha..do you know what this means?

Is this considered promoted?

In this circumstances, bear in mind that when you become the “fully depreciated asset” of the company, it is for the asset to be sold, repolished and became new asset in new company.

Nowadays, I keep receiving this type of email from friends. I am not sure how true is it but it is no harm just spend a few minutes to read for the article and be careful when you are out especially you are alone.

Incident: Indian guy intends to snatch bag when you wind down the car window

Now, it seems this has become the new tactics by the snatch thieves.

The incident was occurred when I was on my way home, someone repeatedly honk as I was driving along the Scotland Road, ignoring it as i though that it wasn’t meant for me.

To my surprise, when I stopped at the traffic light, an Indian on a motorbike came near to my passenger seat window and he has starting to knock my car saying that “Lampu Lampu (means Light..Light) was blinking (by using his 5 fingers gesture showing the blinking gesture), and pointing to my corner light in front.

I just stared at him and felt scared… For a while, the traffic lights turned green, and he left.

With uneasy feeling, I checked and  found all switches were off. wondering if something has gone wrong with my car light, i stopped again  half way and I observed whether my next row car driver has weird looking at my car lights or not, but found none. Induced that nothing was wrong with my car and started to suspect the Indian’s intention.

I drove my car to Sunshine Farlim carpark, and I came out and checked. To my surprise, actually my car was intact, there was nothing wrong with it at all. I start to realise that, the Indian guy was intended to snatch my handbag which were put just beside me if I had wind down the window. Luckily, my stuntness has saved trouble.

I have sms to some of my friends about this incident, and was told that one of them have her handbag’s snatched in Coastal Highway near Queensbay when she stopped and wind down her car window responding to an Indian guy that horn her.

Be careful. In this critical moment, only you can save yourself.

Please do not stop your car for anybody that horn you, if that guy is still following you, please drive straight to the police station.

As I was driving to work this morning, I was tuning in to the 988 radio station (actually I tune in this every morning) and the two morning DJs, were talking about the topic “can we share food with friends?”

Surprisingly that got 50% of the people that called up or sms said that they don’t mind sharing food. The following are those responded from the people both either can or cannot accept sharing food.

“As long as don’t share the same fork and spoon, then should be fine.”

“Can share the same food but cannot share the same drink with the same straw.”

“I don’t mind sharing all my food including food, drink and ice cream as well.”

“Depending on the other people’s appearance, if his/her outlook is not dirty, then it is still acceptable to share the food”

“I cannot accept my gf sharing food with other guys, but is fine if share with gals. Normally I won’t share unless in circumstances that cannot be avoidable.”

“I won’t share because I am not sure whether is there any sickness for that particular person.”

“At first I shared with my bf (who at that time still not yet become my bf) and he misunderstood that I like him but now we are couple.”

“Don’t mind sharing at least we can try different type of dishes.”

All sort of answers from different people. I always share food with some friends especially my University’s friends. I really miss those time that I was still in SLR that I always shared food during lunch time with Ee & Gin. Although just a short period, but this will always be a good memory to me.

Last week i got my laptop so I no need to use desktop anymore. Actually I was quite excited because that was the first laptop that I got for working purpose but at the same time a bit sad because need to bring back everyday. Since last week until today, I still lock my laptop inside the office cupboard and do not bring back home because I lazy.

The laptop screen is smaller compare to the desktop so I set my font size extra big until all my colleagues also keep asking me why my screen look so weird. Every time people ask me, i will answer ” because I too old that why need to set all my fonts size extra big so that I can see clearer.”

See my working place with my previous desktop.

My place looks a bit messy most of the time….

When I read this story, I keep asking myself will there be really a guy who can do this to a gal? Or this is just a story that created by people? I believe in Love but I just feel that cannot last long. Both party need to put effort in order to maintain a relationship.

Enjoy reading!

My husband is an engineer by profession. I love him for his steady nature and… I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders. Two years of courtship and now, five years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness. I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings. I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband is my complete opposite; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about LOVE.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

“Why?” he asked, shocked.

“I am tired. There are no reasons for everything in the world!” I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seemingly in deep thought. My feeling of disappointment only increased.

Here was a man who was not able to even express his predicament, so what else could I expect from him?

And finally he asked me: “What can I do to change your mind?”

Somebody said it right… It’s hard to change a person’s personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered: “Here is the question…. If you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind.”

Let’s say; I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death. Will you do it for me?”

He said: “I will give you your answer tomorrow…. “

My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes….

My dear,
“I would not pick that flower for you, but …. please allow me to explain the reasons further….. ”

This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading.

“When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs. You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love travelling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your “good friend” approaches every month. I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes. I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs.
So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand…and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the colour of the glow on your young face…

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do… I could not pick that flower yet, and die … “

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting … and as I continue reading… “Now, that you have finished reading my answer, and if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favourite bread and fresh milk…”

I rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread….

Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, and I have decided to leave the flower alone…

That’s LIFE, and LOVE.

When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.

Love shows up in all forms; even in very small and cheeky forms. It has never been a model. It could be the dullest and most boring form …

Flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship. Under all this, the pillar of true love stands … AND THAT’S LIFE

The happiest people in the world…. are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

LOVE is not just between two lovers, husband and wife–it also encompasses mother, father and siblings, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbours!

Is it really so hard when you would like to talk to your boss since all of the staffs so unhappy with the working environment? Is it really don’t know how to start the conversation? Since you all already have the planning that working in this company would not be long anymore, what is that so scared to voice out your feeling and opinion?

The following are the things that I able to think:

-         I am not satisfied with your management skills.

-         If everything need to be according to the procedure, the staffs need to scan in and out everyday, then why our salary not bank in to us on time?

-         What makes u think that we can work hard for u?

-         What motivation will you give us as you mentioned to us before that everyone also have their aim to work in a company.

-         As a sales person but do not able to get the sales commission, in addition bonus also not get to share. Why should I still stay in this company?

-         At the same time, keep receiving complain from vendors/suppliers that the company unable to pay the long outstanding debts. Do u think that we have confidence to work in this company?

-         What else you can promise us? Is it just by word with no action taken?

-         How many times we need to have a discussion like this only u will realize that we not so unsatisfied and work till very unhappy.

-         If u think that u able to work alone, all of us can leave the company anytime so you no need to have so many burden.

-         You also no need to have conflict anymore among all your staffs including the one that already left the company but has her own company.

I know actually is hard for you to talk to your boss like this, because seem you not respect him at all. This is just what I suggested with no any meaning behind. J

Good luck for your discussion and talk……..

I just get to know about this article which already published in March 2006 in Thai Rath Newspaper. After finished this article, I am very sure that I unable to share my husband with another gal like the twins. Why I cannot make it? It is so simple that I “selfish” in relationship.

Since this article was in year 2006 and now already year 2008, already more than 2 years, just wonder how is their life be at this moment? Anyway, hope that three of them can have a happy life

Translated from the Thai Rath Newspaper, 24

After Mr Wichai (Tao), aged 24, from Samut Songkram province, who earns his living by dealing in old goods, got married to gorgeous twins Ms Sirintara and Ms Thipawan 22, he vouched his sincerest ‘equal love’ for both of them!Mr Wichai, just yesterday, 23 March, got married in pompous ceremony to both twins simultaneously. On being interviewed by the Thai Rath reporters, Mr Wichai declared wholeheartedly, that he didn’t see much problem in having to perform tiresome marital duties with two wives.

In the engagement ceremony before the wedding, Mr Wichai successfully offered a dowry of eight baht of gold and 80,000 baht EACH for his lovely darlings. Both families celebrated the marriage with joy and were said to be delighted for the threesome.

Mr Wichai told the press that he had been best of friends with his neighbouring twins since they were children. “When I grew older, I would walk past their house each morning and try to decide for myself which one I fancied more, but it was darned impossible – I adored BOTH of them – I just couldn’t decide, which one of them to chat up….!”

He went on to say “For three continuous years all three of us would go on dates together, until there was one day when I couldn’t stand the frustration any longer and told them I love you and want to marry you BOTH

The fortunate Mr Wichai, instead of getting a slap in the face, was overjoyed when both girls admitted to having sworn all along, that they wished to marry the same man! “It wasn’t easy at first, what with the neighbours gossiping, but our family sympathized, understood, and fully supported our mutual love for the one man” the twins said.

Mr Wichai arranged for his brides to live with him, in his family house after the wedding, and his mother has already proudly prepared TWO rooms for the newly-weds.

Our reporters were just gagging to hear the response to this mouth-watering question “And…. what are the sleeping arrangements Mr Wichai”? to which he replied modestly with a beaming smile “Absolutely no problems! For the first three nights of the week, I will sleep with Ms Thipawan and the next three will be spent with Ms Sirintara. As for every Saturday, the three of us will sleep together”

Ms Sirintara finally told the press “When my twin and I worked as assistant nurses, we promised each other that we would never leave each others side, and that our future husband would have to either take us both, or leave us”<
Anyway, Mr Wichai is the perfect man – he neither smokes nor drinks!”
